This community project provides a unique opportunity to pass on a passion and knowledge of sailing to the younger generation of China, in the context of Qingdao's psoition as the International Sailing Centre for the 2008 Olympic Games:

"A lot of Chinese people, especially the young generation, are eager to explore sailing. After the 2008 Olympic Games, the quest for sailing among common Chinese have largely increased. Therefore, we would like to ask you, fellow sailors out there who are reading this, to help us to teach and inspire our younger generation in China. With your commitment, you'll bring sailing and sailing culture close to them, let it grow within them. You'll be an ambassador not only of where you come from, but also of the sailing culture you've grown in. You are to pass your savoir to Chinese children from all social backgrounds. At the same time, teaching in China will be an unforgettable experience in your life: you'll be confronted with people who think and speak with a totally different cultural context, yet share the same passion and enthusiasm as yourself. You'll work closely with Chinese colleagues and fellow coaches, as well as translators. It will be a big challenge and opportunity for you to get to know China and its people from an unusual platform - through its nautical sport."
